A COPY OF 'MET NIEUWE OGEN – VERMEER DOOR DE LENS VAN MONDRIAAN' HAS BEEN PRESENTED TO TYAS BIJLHOLT, ALDERMAN FOR CULTURE OF THE CITY OF AMERSFOORT.

A meaningful moment in Amersfoort: Thursday 05-03-26 - 4 PM. On Thursday 5th march 2026 I had the pleasure of presenting my book 'Met nieuwe ogen – Vermeer through the lens of Mondrian' to Tyas Bijlholt, Alderman for Culture of the city of Amersfoort.
The book explores the visual and conceptual connection between Johannes Vermeer and Piet Mondrian — two artists who, despite the distance of more than two centuries, share a remarkable approach to light, space and composition.
Mondrian, who was born in Amersfoort, is the city’s most internationally known artist. For this reason the city forms an important part of the broader cultural context of the book.
It was therefore a special moment for me to place a copy of the book in the hands of the Alderman for Culture of the city where Mondrian was born.
